Hopi Elders Prophesy

To my fellow swimmers:

Here is a river flowing now very fast.It is so great and swift, that there are those who will be afraid, who will try to hold on to the shore, they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.Know that the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, and keep our heads above water.

And I say see who is there with you and celebrate. At this time in history we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves, for the moment we do,our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves.

Banish the word struggle from your attitude and vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

For we are the ones we have been waiting for.

bit of art on a friday

I took the drawing Sarah did and auto traced it in Illustrator. Added a bunch of stuff to the edges. Then took a picture of a concrete wall and dropped the vectorized drawing into photoshop. Mashed and modded.

Added some filters and added some blur.

Exported as a jpg.

Tudors/LTRWS opening trailer

Been watching the Tudors on Netflix this month and it inspired me a little bit to put some of the images I captured on my past trip to York, PN to the beat. This type of video editing is way fun and uber dramatic. For those of you who know what a time suck video editing is, editing this little 1:20 of video was one of them.

Pleased with the result.

Stills

Went up to PN for the week and shot stills and video for the LTRWS for the company. Came back with some really nice images. Just think what I could do if I had some more lens.

LTRWS HDR stills

Most of these were made Sans tripod, so the quality is not where is should be. They still are pretty fun.

Interview blooper reel

Sat down with Dr.Flinders to talk about the LTRWS and in addition to her expert commentary she was nice enough to leave me with some funny out-takes. Not to worry these won't make it to the actual video, which should make it to the silver screen later this year.

River Guides

The River Guides on the Long Term Receiving Water Study - have some interesting tales to tell. Each trip out brings with it a new guide who is an expert on his waters. They've been doing it for years and know all about the ebs and flows of their rivers.

--Robert Fisher sat with me today to record some interview for the Long Term Receiving Waters Study. After the shoot I asked Dr. Fisher to repeat that rhyme he always says at the end of podcasts. He said it twice.

HDR Photos

Had some questions about these newest photos. Tried out a new technique: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging

The results are pretty crazy in color.

They are a bit more work to do in post editing and don't really down-grade well but they are still nice to look at.

Final days of summer time

Been fairly silent on the blog-o-sphere front of late and have been slowing ramping up my social life. Joined up with a running group, went to some parties, been going out to habitat every Saturday and catching up with ol Z (http://captivatingcolloquy.blogspot.com/) after his triumphant return from the orient. Summer time in the thrill town is quiet and mellow. The lines at restaurants are smaller and you can usually find a table at IP3's (http://italianpizzeria3.com/).

As the students make there way back from summer holiday, the craziness slowly begins to ramp up. Photos of crazy parties begin popping up all over the web, stores roll out their back to school products and everywhere the co-eds prance around on new pumps. Freshman clutching their schedules and flanked by concerned parents boldly walk the streets of their new town while the older students drink beers on the grass, wearing polos and playing lawn golf.

My tomatoes are steadily dying off as the birds viciously tear at the last of my crop. The birds are insatiably hungry and can eat through a freshly refilled feeder in 2 days. It's a bit ridiculous.

I have been putting off making a decision about up-coming road races, but I feel that either a half or full marathon is in the wings. Who's up for it?

Work's good.

Been websiting for weeks now trying to pull together a trade-off tool website.

The last bits of these things are never fun. The polishing is not my forte.

Life's ticking a long. Been a year since I started with the council and it feels like a few weeks.

Guess that's what getting older is like.

Be in touch.

page one mock up

Working up a presentation for a website I'm redesiging for about the 3rd time. It gets better on every redesign. Started working on this when I first joined the company back in August.

I'm gonna start trying to throw down some words when I put up photos.

Maybe make it a bit more relevant?

We shall see.
